Handy Hint 104: Finding those hidden symbols on your Mac keyboard

Have you wished you could type ° a  symbol on your Mac?  Or perhaps currency symbols other than $.

Here is a table of some commonly used symbols that are not visible on the 'basic' Mac keyboard.  The second table below then includes some other key combinations that you may not have yet discovered.
