Handy Hint 91: Dealing with missing events in the Calendar
A fairly common problem that iTandCoffee has seen occur to clients is the seeming disappearance of calendar events, where events that were previously there suddenly are no longer visible, and perhaps where any new calendar events that are added disappear as soon as they are added!
Fear not - there is probably a very simple explanation for this, and your events can be brought back into view very easily.
Step by Step Instructions:
You Calendar app can have one or more calendars within it, allowing you to 'categories' events of different types and, perhaps, share certain calendars of events with others. For more information on setting up and sharing calendars, see
If you tap on the word Calendar at the bottom centre of your screen, you will see a list of your available calendars pop up. I have quite a few, but you may only have a couple (which may be the standard calendars created for you by Apple).
Just make sure that each of the calendars in the list that you wish to see on your Calendar is ticked. If it is not, tap the calendar name to tick it - or just tap 'All iCloud' (if that is in your list) to tick all calendars that are in your iCloud.
Then, magically, your missing events will appear in your calendar again!
If you don't want a certain calendar's events to appear in your Calendar, leave it unticked - but just make sure that, when you create a new event, you don't put it into that 'unticked' calendar. If you do, it will appear to just 'disappear' immediately.

In this demonstration, you will see what happens when the Calendars option at the bottom centre is tapped. The 'Family' calendar is unticked, making the blue events on the right disappear. When it is re-ticked, the blue events re-appear. The 'School' calendar is then unticked, making the green event disappear.
