Have you tried using the Maps app to really easily get directions on your iPad and iPhone.

It can be a great way find your way to someone's house or some other destination. I no longer use my Sat Nav in my car.    Before I leave home, I just ask Siri to give me directions to my destination and 'she' then gives me turn by turn directions!  Much easier than programming the destination into my clunky car Sat Nav system.
