Many Apple users have found that upgrades to their older iPhones or iPads have resulted in degraded performance. I have experienced this myself - my iPad Mini (generation 2) has been SO slow under iOS 11. This has made it an absolute pain to use.
The good news is that the release of iOS 12 in September may bring improved performance to older devices like my iPad Mini. Here is an article I curated in this past fortnight on this topic.

Have you been keeping your iPad, iPhone and/or Mac up to date?
Is your Mac currently running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6? (Visit -> About to check this.)
Is your iPhone / iPad running iOS 11.4.1? (Go to Settings -> General -> About and check the Version.)
If not, it is time to consider whether it apply the latest available upgrade/update to your device - because new versions of MacOS and iOS are about to arrive, and you may not want take on these brand new upgrades until they have been 'bedded down'.
(Note. Older devices may not be able to be updated to the latest operating system.)
New iPhones to be announced very soon
Most of you probably already know this, but some may have missed the news that Apple will soon be announcing its latest set of iPhones.
So, if you are thinking of purchasing a new phone right now, it would be well worth waiting a couple of weeks to hear what will be on offer and to see if the current range drops in price.

At iTandCoffee, we are currently in the process of preparing a range of video tutorials on Microsoft Word. The first set, which cover using the variety of formatting options in the 'Home' ribbon of Word to format your document contents, are nearly ready.
One of these videos covers a really handy tip - how to establish the 'normal' format for all future documents, by defining things like the font type, size, paragraph spacing, and margins that should apply when you start a new document. It's so easy to do.
We have uploaded that tip to the Club area, and it is now available for members of the iTandCoffee Club. (Not yet a members? Find out more about the iTandCoffee Club here.)
At Free Friday last on Friday 18th August, we covered some great topics relating to photos - amongst a few other things.
Here is the list of topics we covered - and thanks to the iTandCoffee Club members who came along.
Hello to iTandCoffee Club members.
From this point forward, we are going to use a blog article to communicate the fortnight's news for Club members - rather than including this news in the body of the email that subscribers receive. This allows us to keep the email a lot shorter than it has been of late!
So, without any further ado, here is the latest news for our Club Members. (Not a member? Why not join today. Find out more here.)

What a great group of staff and parents at the Keeping kids safe on iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch workshop, held at Hartwell Primary School last week. Thank to everyone who came along.
We talked about the great new Parental Controls that will be released for Apple mobile devices in September (and lots of other essential information for parents).
We so regularly hear from parents who were left terrified by what they heard at a previous Cybersafety session, but came away from that session not knowing how implement the necessary controls on their child's device/s.
The feedback we get at the end of our workshop is always so positive - that the practical information provided fills the gap left by these other CyberSafety information sessions.
Video of Mac Monday has been uploaded
Due to some late cancellations, we had only a small group at Mondays Mac user group, Mac Monday - but how lucky they were to get so many of their questions addressed.
Here are the topics that were covered:
