I can't believe I only started using very recently (thanks to my sister!) - listening to the TV's audio on AirPods. This is great for late night viewing, as I can have the sound up as high as I like without disturbing anyone!
It is so easy to switch your TV audio output to your AirPods (or any other Bluetooth headphones) - especially if you have an Apple TV hooked up to your TV. (Note. Your TV itself may also support sound output to the AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones. I gave up trying to get this working with mine, and just rely on the Apple TV.)

1/2/2017 0 Comments Problem signing in to iTunes or iCloud on Apple TV or other i-Device after setting up two-factor authenticationA client who visited iTandCoffee this week had been unable to access her iTunes account on her Apple TV since she upgraded her iPhone to iOS 10 and activated the security feature called 'two-factor-authentication' on her Apple account - something that Apple really pushed us all to do when updating our devices to iOS 10. Her Apple TV kept giving her the error message that her iTunes password was not correct, even though she knew it was - and that password still worked fine everywhere else. Each time she tried to sign in on the Apple TV, she got a message on her iPhone saying that there was an attempted sign in. Even if she chose 'Allow' and got the 6-digit code on the iPhone, the Apple TV did not give her an opportunity to enter that code. The good news is that there is a solution to this, one that provides a way to sign in to an Apple iTunes or iCloud on a device that is not giving you an option to enter the 'two-factor-authentication' code We have added a 'Handy Hint' for iTandCoffee Club members on how to fix this problem. It is now in the Handy Hint Library - select the link below to view this hint. Not yet a member?Contact iTandCoffee on 1300 885 420 if you need help to solve this problem.

I too found myself in this state during my summer break, when I went to play the Adele '25' album that I had purchased. At the time I was looking to play it, I had no internet service so needed to rely on my downloaded music. I knew I had downloaded Adele's album, but could not find the Album on my iPhone - despite it showing in my iTunes Store app that it had been downloaded. It was then that I discovered that all the music that I had previously sync'd to my iPhone from my computer had also disappeared, leaving me with nothing to listen to while 'offline'. Then, in setting up my new Apple TV, I couldn't get any music to show up in Apple Music - other than Apple Radio. I found that there are a couple of things to consider when sorting out issues with your Music under iOS 9, depending on whether you have turned on iCloud Music Library and whether you have an Apple Music subscription. My family LOVES our Apple TV. In fact, we have two! I use one when running my iTandCoffee classes, to project my iPad's screen up onto a big TV screen. Just last night we rented the movie 'Guardians of the Galaxy' using our Apple TV, and watched that together on our family room TV. But just before we did that, I showed my family a video that I had seen on Facebook, that shows how to really, really easily put a quilt cover onto your quilt. From my iPhone, I 'airplayed' the Facebook video (via our Wi-Fi network) to the TV screen for us all to watch. (Check out that amazing video here! I can't believe I had never seen this before!) Are you wondering if the Apple TV has a place in your home? For me, the relatively low price tag of only $109 (sometimes less on sale) made that decision easy. Here are a couple of articles that might help you decide for yourself.
Then, one of the kids came up with a great and clever idea - why not continue the game at home, but make it even better by projecting the screen from the iPad onto the TV screen, using the Apple TV and Airplay Mirroring. That would mean that we would all see the drawing from the iPad as it was being drawn on the big LED TV! Which is exactly what we did - and we had SUCH fun. We used the cards, dice and scoring from the Lego Creationary game - with modified rules - and just passed the iPad around to whoever was taking a turn. We would have used the Pictionary cards and timer, but this could not be found so we made do with what we had! Of course, the Apple TV has lots of other uses as well. But this was one we hadn't thought of before and was really worth discovering! The video shown here is not very exciting, but hopefully gives you an idea! |
