iTandCoffee recently presented on the topic of A look at Facebook for Business at the Tourism Network Yarra Valley 2018 Conference at Healesville, at the beautiful Worawa Aboriginal College. This was our second year presenting to this group.
The presentation was aimed at the small business owners/operators who attended, many of whom struggle to understand Facebook and how to reach their Facebook audience.
Recently, I have been seeing a huge number of my Facebook friends friend re-posting the same post (or slight variations thereof) - stating that Facebook is limiting posts from their friends and that, getting friends to leave a comment or sticker in response to their post will force Facebook to show posts from a wider range of their friends
An iTandCoffee client asked today if there is a way of blocking posts from a 'prolific' poster without removing that person as a friend.
The answer is that Yes, this can be done - by Unfollowing that person.

Facebook has made it possible now for you to easily check if your data was shared as part of this breach.
Below is a 1-minute video that shows you where to look in your iPhone's Facebook app. Alternatively, select this link to perform a quick check from your web browser of whether your privacy was breached.

I have been going through and updating some Handy Hints published over the past few years, and I came across this one that I thought might be useful to many iTandCoffee subscribers.
It relates to how you can control those videos on Facebook that seem to automatically play - even when you are using your mobile data. This can waste a lot of your precious data.
It is possible to change this, so that videos only play when you are on a Wi-Fi network. You can even say that you don't want any auto-playing of videos.
This is a members-only tip for iTandCoffee Club members.
Our Free Friday this month for iTandCoffee Members was on the topic 'Let's Talk about Facebook'.
This was our biggest turnout to date - thank-you everyone who attended. We had lots of fun - and got lots of 'check-ins' at iTandCoffee!
The video from this information session is now uploaded to our website.

How many Facebooks notifications and ads to you receive each day? Would you like to be able to stop some of these from occurring?
For example, have you noticed how, when you comment on a post by someone else, you then start getting notifications about comments made by other people about that post?
Have you shared an article or some other post, and then started getting notifications on who is liking, sharing and commenting about it - and wondered if you could stop these?
If you find yourself getting such notifications, it is very easy to turn them off - either from your computer or on your iPhone or iPad.
In the Facebook app on the iPhone or iPad, go to your Notifications (i.e. tap the globe symbol in the bar at the bottom (or top on your computer).
You will see a list of recent Notifications. For any notification in this list, swipe from right the left across the notification to see the 'Hide' and 'More' options.
To stop receiving notifications about the post, just choose the 'More' option to reveal the 'Turn off notifications about this ...' and tap on this option.
On your computer, simply tap the 'down-arrow' that is at top right of the post to uncover some options. Once again, select 'Turn off notifications for this post'.
