At iTandCoffee, our strong recommendation to all clients and subscribers is to, wherever possible, set up an extra layer of protection for any online accounts. This extra layer of protection is called two-step-verification or two-factor-authentication.
While this adds a level of comfort when it comes to security of your accounts, it can be annoying to have go and get the code that is sent to you as an SMS, and then enter it as part of the account login process.
An area of Word that you may not have discovered yet - one that makes formatting your document’s text so much easier - is the Styles area on the Home ribbon.
We have a series of videos covering Styles, all available to those who have Premium membership of the iTandCoffee Club.
The full set is listed below, but the first in the list is included for all iTandCoffee Club members as one of this week's Handy Hints - select the button below to view this video. (Not a member? Learn about the iTandCoffee Club here.)
There is a feature of my Mac that I use so regularly, and that is recording the action and audio of what is happening on my Mac's screen. It can be a great way of keeping a record of the steps that you take to do something - especially when someone is teaching you something about your Mac.
I use it many times a week to record the handy hint videos that you see in this blog.
iTandCoffee recently presented on the topic of A look at Facebook for Business at the Tourism Network Yarra Valley 2018 Conference at Healesville, at the beautiful Worawa Aboriginal College. This was our second year presenting to this group.
The presentation was aimed at the small business owners/operators who attended, many of whom struggle to understand Facebook and how to reach their Facebook audience.

Do you ever allow your child on your own device to play a game or watch a video, and then find they have been busy moving your apps around, grouping them and more?
Or do you sometimes let them take a device to bed - say to read a book or listen to some music - but want to ensure that they are not able to access any game or other content instead. Perhaps you would even like to set a time limit for that app you are allowing the to use?

Big new for Mac users is that MacOS Mojave has now arrived - an upgrade from the previous MacOS operating system, High Sierra.
This new MacOS arrived on September 25th, and its new features are described in the articles below:

With the recent release of Apple's Screen Time for mobile devices, parents were given a suite of great new parental controls to help manage their children's use of these devices - for children up to the age of 18.
If you haven't yet discovered these new features, visit Settings -> Screen time on an iPhone or iPad and explore the great controls that can now be put in place. (We are running information sessions on these great new features - see below for details of the schools we are visiting, and of the sessions that will be run at iTandCoffee.)
While Google launched its equivalent last year - the Family Link App for Android - it seemed to me to fall well short of parent requirements, since it only applied for children under 13 years of age. You could not use it for older children

As of the end of September 2018, Apple has ceased its Photo Book printing service (as well as other printed products like Calendars, photo prints, etc.)
If you visit the Projects area of the Photos app and choose the 'create option' (the +), you will find that choosing Book simply gives you the option to visit the App Store.
For so many years, I have been almost evangelical about Evernote and what a difference it has made to my life. I no longer have a physical filing cabinet - Evernote IS my filing cabinet, and I can access the contents of that cabinet anywhere. It even reminds me about time-sensitive notes that that I have saved there.
