At the Introduction to the iPad and iPhone class about The Mail App this week, a couple of the attendees found that they could not see their full set of mailboxes. For one attendee, there was no Inbox available in the list of Mailboxes.
If you ever find that you Inbox (or another mailbox) has gone missing, don't stress. It is still there.
It has just been hidden away, but can be made visible again very easily.
These days, if you want to purchase a license for Office 365 for use at home, you have a few options - as shown in the image below. You have the option to purchase a one-time licence for Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote. Or, you have the option to pay a subscription that will always keep you up-to-date with the latest version of these produces - plus give you several other Microsoft apps, including Outlook and OneDrive.
If you are purchasing a subscription, Office 365 Home offers a great option if there are multiple Office users in your household.
Up to 5 users can share this licence, and each user gets 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage - perfect for storing all their files and photos and sync'ing them between all their devices. This can work out so much cheaper than cloud storage offered by other providers.
At a client visit this week, we discussed the issue of online safety when travelling. I mentioned that the best solution for staying safe online was to install and use a VPN on any device/computer that you use on a public Wi-Fi network.
I promised to include details of recommended VPN services for this client in this week's newsletter - I figured some other readers may also be interested.
Here are some articles I have recently curated on this topics. The one I have used for several years is Private Internet Access (PIA). I have found it has worked really well whenever I have travelled and when on public Wi-Fi networks in Australia.
This week, I was asked if I would be interviewed on a regional radio station, to discuss kids on technology and cybersafety.
I though it would be great to be able to record the interview as it went to air, so that I could listen to it later.
So, I turned to an app that I have on my iPhone - an app that allows me to listen to any radio station, from anywhere in the world. It also allows me to record whatever is currently playing.

I was with client this week who was suffering from autofill problems with her Safari on the Mac.
Her issue resulted from a 'feature' that arrived on the Mac with Sierra (in 2016), where fields that look like 'name' fields are automatically filled with contact information.
This autofill setting can get in the way on certain web pages and in certain fields that you need to fill in. I too found this feature frustrating when it arrived, so turned it off.
What is Fortnite?
Fortnite is the latest gaming phenomenon sweeping the world. Children worldwide are obsessed with this game and parents worldwide are stuggling to manage the time that their children spend on it. Recent reports state that there are 125 million players of this game, and up to 3 million concurrent users at any point in time.
If you have purchased one of the newer model MacBook Pro's - the entry level model that has the two USB-C ports, and no touch-bar - you should be aware of a potential problem that could result in the loss of your Mac's data.
