This is something that happens regularly.
When I am washing my hands, or just have the tap running, Siri will suddenly activate and say 'she' can't understand what I am saying. It seems that Siri hears the words 'Hey Siri' in the running water.

It's almost impossible to say, and most people would have no clue what it stands for. I'm talking about the phrase CAPTCHA.
Here's what it stands for, and how you can learn more about it (in case you are interested!). Read on for information about our favourite new features in iOS 16. One of the many features of the new iOS 16 operating system for iPhone is the ability to customise your Lock Screen and set up different Lock Screens.
I didn't think that this would be a feature that I would pay much attention to, but I have found that I really love it. I have created multiple Lock Screens with some favourite photos, and can easily switch between them. Here's a preview of this feature, and a handy hint tutorial that goes through how to set it up. We had a great turn-out for our September User Group, held on Zoom.
Here are the topics we discussed in the hour:
The above images shows a text I received this morning.
Co-incidence so often catches us out with scam texts, emails and calls - and this one nearly caught me. I had recently taken a trip on the freeway and wasn't sure if I heard the 'beep' from my Linkt device when I went through the toll sensors. So I wasn't surprised to see a text like this. 10/9/2022 0 Comments How to close all Safari pages at once. And why you don't need to do the same with AppsA regular iTandCoffee Client yesterday expressed concern that she hadn't 'closed all her iPad apps' lately, and she was worried that this was a problem for her device's performance.
She was also concerned about the number of Safari Tabs she had open, and that it was tedious to close them one-by-one. I reassured her there was no need to worry about closing any apps on the iPad or iPhone and that, in fact, this is actually counter-productive. And showed her a quick and easy way to close all open tabs in Safari. You most likely saw the press announcements this past week about this one! Apple announced some new products on September 8th -
Also announced the upcoming availability of iOS 16 on September 13th - see our separate article on this. No announcements were made on new model iPads - this is rumoured for October, when Apple will most likely also announce the release of iPadOS 16. Here is some information about the new products - including pricing and suggestions on what device might be best for you. If you are like us, you probably have a subscription to at least one streaming service. In fact, our current set is Netflix, Prime Video, Binge, and Apple TV. During COVID lockdown times, we also had Stan and Paramount+.
All those streaming services can add up to quite a sizeable monthly bill. So there is an approach I now take with these services to avoid unnecessary charges. 8/9/2022 0 Comments New version of iPhone Operating system (iOS 16) arrives Tuesday - but don't rush to install itI you hadn't already noticed, Apple releases a major upgrade to the 'operating system' that runs everything on our iPhones (called iOS). Around this time of year, they also concurrently release a major upgrade to the operating systems running our iPads (iPadOS) and Macs (macOS).
They will usually also usually announce the imminent arrival of a new iPhone model at this time of year. In line with this, on September 8th (AEDT), Apple announced that iOS 16 for iPhones will be available on September 13th (AEDT). (It also announced the next model of iPhones, the iPhone 14 series, and new AirPods and Apple Watches. We talk about in the new product announcements in a separate article.) Here's why you should not rush into downloading and installing iOS 16 on September 13th (or soon after). |
