Hold fire if you were just about to purchase a new Mac. Apple has just announced its range of new look 24-inch iMacs - and it's quite a change from their previous look. So square, and so colourful!
Orders will open on April 30th 2021, for delivery in the second half of May 2021.
But this is not all that was announced this week. And a major update is also due this week.
You may have read in the press in the last couple of weeks that there is now a new series of Macs available - MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini - and these new Macs no longer use Intel Chips. Instead, Apple has developed its own chip - a high performance chip called M1.
So, if you are in the market for a new Mac right now, should you consider getting one of these new Macs?
This week, I received my new iPhone 12 Pro!
It has been 3 years since I purchased a new iPhone - a real drought for someone who had previously upgraded every single year! My iPhone X has served me well since 2017, and I really wasn't sure if I was ready to change.
But a couple of key things drove my decision to upgrade.
iPhone SE (with Home Button) alongside iPhone X (no Home Button)
A few clients have asked me recently what phone I would recommend for them.
If you are thinking of getting a new phone, it would be worth holding off for another few weeks if you can - as the new range of iPhones is set to be announced (if rumours are true) in another couple of weeks. These phones will all be versions that have FaceID and are minus a Home Button. I'm sure they will all have excellent cameras, and they will most likely be 5G enabled.
But I know that many of you prefer an iPhone that still has a Home Button and TouchID.
The latest range of iPhones - the iPhone 11 series - was announced early this morning (11/9), and pre-orders will open at 10pm this Friday (13/9) - for those who are super-keen to jump on board! The new phones will be available from 20/9.
Read on for more details on Apple's announcement, and for pricing and some advice for those looking to purchase a new iPhone some time soon.
New iPhones to be announced very soon
Most of you probably already know this, but some may have missed the news that Apple will soon be announcing its latest set of iPhones.
So, if you are thinking of purchasing a new phone right now, it would be well worth waiting a couple of weeks to hear what will be on offer and to see if the current range drops in price.
Over the past week, there have been a couple of significant announcements from Apple that we know will impact many of our clients and subscribers.
If you are thinking of buying a Mac some time soon, there is a long list of models to choose from - but which on is right for you now and for your future needs.

For anyone considering purchasing an iPad or iPad in the near future, I saw this fantastic article (published 20/2/15) online today.
It is so well laid out and gives you clear and concise recommendations on what to buy and what to avoid.
Here it is, on the iTandCoffee 'Scoop.it' web page.
Yesterday, the lovely Margot called to ask what sort of iPad she should get, and where might be the best place to get it.
For Margot , I have recommended that she get an iPad Air Wi-Fi 32GB. This recommendation is based on the following considerations ...
Well, a quick look online on Sunday (1/3/15) revealed that 'The Good Guys' was the cheapest for this iPad model. Here's what I found on that day when I did an online price check for Margot:
Margot 'struck while the iron was hot' and got her iPad from The Good Guys, who had already - on that day - put the price up by $50. (They only gave it to her for the discounted price because she took in the ad that I had sent her.)
But looking just now (Thursday 5/3), Officeworks is by far the cheapest option for the above stores, offering the same iPad for $60 less all others.
If I needed a new iPad, I would be dashing in to Officeworks to grab one at this really great discounted price. Here is the listing on the Officeworks website.
