Can I still Print a Photo Book using Apple's Photos app?

If you were an avid Apple Photo Books user, I hate to be the bearer of bad news.

Just in case you hadn't heard, you can no longer order a photo book through Apple - even if you have it created and ready to go.

Don't despair - you won't have to start all over again. You can still print that book that you had just spent hours creating.

As of the end of September 2018, Apple is no longer in the business of printing Photo Books.

The good news is that the option to create and order a photo book IS still available within the Photos app. However, you will need to upgrade to MacOS Mojave to do this. And you will have to install and use a third-party app (which you must get from the Mac App Store).

Then, when you go to create a photo book in the Photos app, you will select the App that you wish to use (ie the app you downloaded form the App Store).

Here is the screen that you will see in the Photos app on MacOS Mojave when you go to Create a Book.

Currently the only Photo Book Creation app available when you choose the App Store here (in Australia) is Mimeo Photos.

If you had already started a Photo Book before Apple pulled the rug from under you, it is possible to convert this work into a Mimeo photo book (once you have downloaded this app to your Mac).

Just choose the Convert option at top right (when viewing your already-created photo book) and choose Mimeo Photos (or whatever other app you may have downloaded in future).

There are plenty of other photo book creation options available

Apple's withdrawal of this service is very disappointing for those of you who loved Apple's photo books (which really were beautiful). But there are plenty of other services out there that do offer great alternatives.

We have not recently used Apple's product as we found to be very expensive - great quality, but expensive. Mimeo Photos also looks very expensive.
