26/2/2014 0 Comments How is your internet speed?![]() I have visited several clients this week who had, coincidentally, had issues with their internet speed, and had been looking at what to do about it. This has highlighted to me how easily internet providers can make it seem like the product they are offering is more than it actually is, or really not put you fully 'in the picture' - especially if you don't know what to ask or don't understand terminology, features and potential limitations. If you have been on the same plan for a few years, you may not necessarily be getting the best value for money, or the internet speed and data limit that you could have and perhaps really need. Now might be the time to change, especially if you have a growing family who are using up more and more of your data, or if you are watching more online content from your i-Device, computer and SmartTV! You will find that Telcos now offer 'bundles' that can make your combined phone and internet cheaper than if you have separate products for each. Go online if you can, and check out the offerings.
But make sure you really understand what is on offer, and what other options/providers are available before committing. Do you know the difference between Cable and ADSL, and do you understand what they are talking about when referring to Kbps and Mbps. Be sure that you are comparing "apples with apples" before changing your plan, especially if you are going to be locked in to a contract. If you need a translator when dealing with Telco's and their products and plans, iTea&Coffee can help. Just call 1300 885 420 or email enquiry@itandcoffee.com.au. Want to find out what speed you are getting right now? If you ever want to test the speed of your internet, go to the website www.speedtest.net and select 'Begin Test' and see what you get. (If you are on a iPad or iPhone, you can download the Speedtest.net app by OOKLA.) My download speed here at iTea&Coffee (via Bigpond Ultimate Cable) just measured at 112Mbps. What is your speed?
