Liz E. called and asked for assistance in relation to a forgotten passcode on her son's device. The device had been disabled due to too many attempts, and she was being stopped from restoring the device from iTunes due to the fact that 'Find my iPhone' was still set on the device - but she could not unlock it to disable 'Find my iPhone'!
This is another regular enquiry of iTandCoffee. It has been previously covered in the post "Help!! I have forgotten my iPad's passcode!".
It's pretty bad news if you don't have a backup
If you don't have a backup, you will (unfortunately) be forced to erase your device and return it to its factory settings, resulting in the loss of whatever was stored and set up on your device.
Restoring your device
Here is the Apple Support article that provides the various recovery and restoration options.
Needless to say, if you have any issues understanding or following these instructions, contact iTandCoffee on 1300 885 420 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
