A client who has received the notification that her Telstra Mail move is coming up soon has asked iTandCoffee if the new Telstra Mail service will resolve the problems she has previously had with sending her Bigpond emails when she is overseas (or just on an internet connection provided by a different ISP).

The good news is that the new Telstra Mail service does resolve the issue with sending from overseas, for those of us who had the old-style 'Pop' email account and previously incurred problems.
However, there is a 'but' to this answer.
When your mail account is moved, Telstra does not require that you make any changes on your devices to be able to continue accessing your mail. While this may seem like good news, leaving your email setup unchanged on each of your devices will mean that you are not taking advantage of the improved features of the new Telstra Mail service, which include
To take advantage of these features, you will need to change the setup of the email account on each of your devices - on your computer/s and mobile devices/tablets. Refer to the articles included earlier for further details about this (or contact iTandCoffee on 1300 885 420 if you need help).
Will the 'email forwarding' I set up previously on my Bigpond account still work after the move?
For my own Bigpond account that was moved in late August 2016, the email forwarding did remain in place when it was moved to the new service.
I was concerned that I might have to set this up again after the move, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the forwarding rule was still in place in the new mail service.
However, another client of iTandCoffee found that the forwarding she had previously set up was NOT still in place after the move.
The best bet would be to check this setting after the move has been completed.
