If you have ever scanned some old photos into your computer or mobile device, you will know the frustration of later trying to find these photos - especially if, like me, you have thousands of photos.
The date recorded against the photos (in the photo's 'metadata') will be the date they were scanned - which means the Photos app's timeline will show them on that date. So you have to remember when you scanned them (unless you have been clever enough to put them in a separate album, of course).
Wouldn't it be great if you could put a more accurate date on these photos so that they appear in the Photos timeline in the correct year, on the date you specify?
If you use Google Photos, here is how you can change the photos date.
If you have a Mac and use the Photos app on your Mac, changing the the date of a photo in your Photos library - either individually or in bulk - is easy.
Here is a short video showing how to adjust any photo's date (and location, if required) on your Mac. (Note. This one is a members-only handy hint for members of our iTandCoffee Club - you'll need to use your club login to view this tip.)
Unfortunately, the Photos app on the iPad and iPhone does not include the ability to change the photo's date as part of the Editing capabilities it provides.
However, I have found an app that does allow such changes to the date AND location data of photos in your Photos Library.
Here's a video that show's how easy it is the specify the date, and then see it in your Photos in the correct place.
